Sita: Magritte was trying to make the point that what you see is not a pipe even though it is beautifully rendered, it actually is a drwaing of a pipe. This makes you think that not everything you see is what it appears to be.
But of course, that is my interpretaion, the beauty of art is you can interpret it in any way you like.
Magritte is great. And that's a very gentlemanly and masculine one that you have chosen to post too :)
